I just purchased the latest They Might Be Giants album and started listening to the fist song and the lyrics are fantastic...
Science is real, from the big bang to DNA
Science is real, from evolution to the milky way
I like those stories about angels unicorns and elves
Now i like those stories as much as anyone else
But when I'm seeking knowledge either simple or abstract
The facts are with science
Its interesting that it is getting some religious people quite upset (surprise!). The main complaint seems to be around the fact that this is a children's album. And apparently teaching your children science is BAD, or at least is ok if you teach the-bible-as-fact on equal footing (a thing I believe MOST reasonable religious people understand is not the case). Anyhow - lets raise our glasses to a new Age of Reason, where hopefully people will (at a minimum) evaluate their personal mythos as such. I'll start holding my breath... now.
